Gob Cake Recipe

My dad LOVES Gob, and for fathers day I had made him a Gob cake, and everyone who tried it, was pretty dang pleased with it, and it was really fun to make as well.

What you'll need:

  • 1 18.5oz box of chocolate cake mix
  • 1pkg. instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 cups of milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups icing sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1tsp vanilla extract
  • 3tbsp flour
Beat cake mix, pudding,  oil, 1 1/2 cups of milk, four eggs for four minutes on high in a large bowl. Divide batter into two 10x15inch pans, put half in a greased pan and the other in a pan lined with parchment paper. Bake 12-15mins at 350. To make the filling combine the icing sugar, 1/2 cup of milk, shortening, butter, vanilla, and flour until it's like whipped cream.

Spread it over the layer in greased pan, loosen the other layer around the edge with a knife and flip it on top of the other layer-it's best to wait until it's cooled off a bit for this part, it won't break as easily.
Lastly, cut, serve, and enjoy!

***If you make any of the recipes I've written please tweet a picture to me at Alltimemusic129, I'd love to see/post them!
