What I've Been Up To Lately - I

I think it should just be a thing where I just start doing an update series since I don't blog much on a daily basis, which I really do want to change. I know I say that often, but it's true. I always have in the back of my mind on that I should be writing a blog post, and how I wish I would keep up with it and be posting on a daily basis. The problem is coming up with ideas on what to post about, which is why I do so many reviews. Sometimes it seems easier to just pick something like a book, movie, or food that I can just type up a review and pretty much have an endless supply of.

Unfortuanatlly I don't have any ravishing news like that I won the lottery, or got a super amazing tan-our town has turned into Seattle with all this rain!- or, you know,  finally've gotten that dog I've always wanted.

My plans of going on vacation that I've been so badly wanting to do this past year has fallen through -grr!-, but hopefully it'll get makin' up someway or another. The year ain't over yet!

So this is been what's new.

Chick-fil-a's new -limited- Peach Milkshake. Crazy good! Chick-fil-a honestly has THEE BEST milkshakes I've ever had. I just wish they weren't so caloric!

New sunglasses. They remind me of Eric Church and his Springsteen video. (The main reason I'd gotten them. Also, when you're driving, and you're too short for the sun visor to block the sun, sunglasses are a must.) You can get them here.

The movies. How I've missed going to the movies! This one was a pain in the butt to go to as well! The movie theater closest to us was playing this, me and my Dad got in the car, headed to the theater, and it turns out they had switched the Tomorrowland showings for that day to a marathon of some old B&W movie which I can't remember what it was-but they still had on their board/website they were showing Tomorrowland...??? So, we called my mom to call and check the showing for a different theater, finding out the next showing was in about 20 minutes, made our way there, got the tickets, popcorn, drinks just to find out the show wasn't going to play for ANOTHER hour, after the website supposedly said it was playing in just a few minutes.
My Dad wasn't very happy about it, the guy offered to let us exchange our tickets for a different movie but we decided to wait, and we talked about Age of Ultron (yes, I'm still very much obsessed), and stories of my Dad and his brother when they were younger instead, it was very nice.
We even got ice cream after too, I really wanted ice cream with sprinkles (I know, such a two year old-it's literally been years since I've had ice cream, or sprinkles. Thank. You.) however it was great, my stomach did not appreciate it once so ever. Lactose intolerance? Very likely. (Fyi, dairy has been an issue since the day I was born, I promise I'm not self-diagnosing myself with issues when little things come up.)
All in all, it was a great trip-and movie! Tim McGraw actually plays in it, George Clooney was amazing of course. It was a great movie. Different than what I had expected it to be like, but it was really good.
Side note; Did anyone else not know he played on Roseanne? I just found that out a few weeks ago after watching it on Netflix. He plays Booker.

Speaking of Booker. Books. I'm just bookin' it up lately (I'm a Biblophile). I think I've gotten about a dozen new books this past month (okay, maybe, like, six.). My parents were so sweet and picked me up The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook, a puzzle book, and The Princess Within for Teens by Serita Ann Jakes when they were out. I have yet to read/try/attempt these, but I'm very excited to!

You can follow me on my Instagram if you'd like, I'm usually posting on there every couple days[:

What're y'all up to lately??

Toblerone Chocolate Review

After finding out that the U.S. version of Cadbury chocolate isn't the same as the U.K. chocolate, I've been trying to find a different brand that would fit the bill.

My Dad likes Toblerone's a lot and I can only recall trying it once and it was many many years ago, so I figured I'd give it a shot.
Toblerone is a Swiss chocolate. This one in-particular has honey and almond nougat. I know there's another type in a blue box, but they didn't have it at the Wal*Mart where I found this one.

Ingredients: Milk Chocolate [Sugar, Milk, Cocoa Butter, Chocolate, Milkfat, Soy Lecithin-An emelsifier, Vanillin-an Artificial Flavor], Sugar, Honey, Almonds, Invert Sugar, Egg White

I really liked the chocolate in itself. I've noticed it's hard to find a plain milk chocolate bar that isn't by Hershey's, Dove, or Cadbury so it was nice having a different kind. It was smooth and creamy-perfect really!

The honey isn't over powering at all, but you know it's there. I'm not a huge fan of honey so when I saw that honey was in it, I was a bit skeptical but it's not at all bad.

The only part I didn't care for was the almond nougat. I'm very funny with my teeth and I just didn't like the texture of it in the bar and the way it felt on my teeth. If it had been just little pieces of almond, and not so much the nougat, it probably would have been a hit, but I ended up giving 2/3rds of the bar to whomever wanted it. [I'm thinking it was my Dad.]

Glutino Chocolate Creme Cookie Review

[source]

I've been eying these things for the past month or so at Wal*Mart, now I'm finally trying them.

These look a lot like Oreo's, only without the brand name on them. They don't have Glutino or anything printed on the cookie. But they smell like brownies, the center isn't sickly sweet, and the actual outer cookie tastes like the crust from brownie, kind of like dark chocolate. I can't compare them to any other chocolate creme cookie because this is the only kind I've ever had.
They aren't as sweet as the vanilla creme ones, probably because the chocolate flavor cuts it.

The chocolate taste can be a little much for me and the flavor sticks in your mouth for a little while after, too.

These cookies are around $4.00 at our local Wal*Mart, there is a Great Value version, but like I said, these are the only kind I've ever tried, so I don't know how they taste.

So taste wise 5/10 - The chocolate gets a little much for me, but I love that they aren't sickeningly sweet.
Price 6/10 - When it comes to gluten free foods it gets really expensive, $4.00, believe it or not, isn't all that bad.

Over all, I would recommend these to a friend and anyone who liked Oreo's! They're a great alternative for something to indulge in if you missed those cookies!

Reading Challenge... Complete!

Aaah!

I've finished my GoodReads Reading Challenge of 52 books for the year!

When I first started the challenge I was more aiming to read more than I did last year (28), and I'm pleased to say that it has been reached!

If I recall I believe I left off my last update with either The Notebook, or Anything But Typical, so these are the last few books I've completed.

- The Pride of Jared MacKade (The MacKade Brothers #2) by Nora Roberts
-  Skating Sensation (Dork Diaries #4) by Rachel Renee Russell
- The Heart of Devin MacKade (The MacKade Brothers #3) by Nora Roberts
- Accomplice by Eireann Corrigan
- Arena One (The Survival Trilogy #1) by Morgan Rice

If you're a fan of The Hunger Games or The 5th Wave, you'll LOOOVVEEEE Arena One. I just finished this book maybe 20 minutes ago and I. Could. Not. Turn. Away. It was one of those books where you can't be bothered to get something to eat or do anything that could possibly take your eyes away from the book for even the slightest tiniest bit of a second.

Not that this goal is done (also a bucket list goal *wink wink*), I think I'm gonna try to top my most counted books read in a year (on GoodReads), topping at 77. Which would roughly be a book a week, so nothing too far fetched from this one.
I can't wait[:

What're you reading??
