Potter Challenge: Day 2

What Is Your Least Favorite Book In The Series?

Hands down The Order of The Phoenix. I felt like this one dragged on like there wasn't enough going on in the book for as long as it was. This was the book that made me stop the series which was silly because I only had two more books to go. Maybe it was the length of them that freaked me out thinking they'd be the same.

Potter Challenge: Day 1

Favorite Book In The Series

To be fair, I haven't read all of the series, once I hit a certain book that was a little too slow for me, I had stopped reading them to take a break, but I've read them multiple times before. My favorite book is The Prisoner of Azkaban.
I love how much is going on in the book and the darkness of it. I just love it. The description of the Dementors was a little scary to me, but that's one of the things that just made it so good.

Birthday Weekend!

What a weekend! My birthday is actually Friday, but it's easier to just lump the whole weekend together, rather than a separate post for all of it.

After working out this morning me and mom took a trip to the gas station and got ourselves a lemonade to cool off with. I think it flared my stomach up a bit, but it was worth it. I don't have these types of drinks all that often.

After my Grandparents house we stopped a Rite Aid to pick up some dark chocolate. I want to start incorporating a piece of dark chocolate into my diet because of the antioxidants. And I know that Dove probably isn't the best dark chocolate for that, but hey, whatever. It's only a piece a day. I know I said I could eat it, but I'm having it with a meal and so far I haven't noticed anything crazy, so, that's a good thing. The bad part is that the chocolate is really good! Will power!

And I may have got more gummi worms...you guys they're an addiction! I need to get back off this candy thing. It's not even like I eat them all them all the time, it's only on the weekends, and it takes like three weeks to finish one bag, but still...

On Saturday, which i unfortunately didn't take any pictures. Some of my cucumber vines are starting to wilt, we've noticed some of the cucumber pests on them, but today there wasn't any and more vines were wilting, and it turns out some larva can be 'nested' inside of the vines, so I sprayed insecticidal soap all over them to see if it would help any, I also sprayed some on the tomato plants because their covered in aphids, although I didn't spray much on them because there was more ladybugs on them than there were the other day so I'd imagine they can handle that job.

And on Sunday, or today, depending when this gets posted, I didn't do too much from not feeling good. My mom made my birthday meal, which was hamburgers. I just had a plain patty with some salt on top, and spent the rest of the day relaxin'. [:

Catching Up With Summer

I don't know about anyone else, but it feels like summer is flying by super quick and it's actually a little overwhelming. Well, except for the past two days, for some reason they've dragged on, and it's more frustrating than overwhelming. (Is that even possible?)

The summer plans I've head in my head, haven't exactly happened in person. Lately I've been feeling so slugish and blah, my stomachs been hurting again, there's a lot going on in my life, and I'm feeling worn out, which is bad, because things are going to be getting a lot more interesting.

Either way, I am slowly but surely trying to get more posts done, I know I've been MIA lately and I'll try my best to post more.

Here's a few things to share though.

Summer here has been more like Seattle than what it typically is. Last few years it's been scorching hot, this year? Cloudy and Rainy. "It rains nine months out of the year in Seattle" anyone? anyone?
But what little sun we do get, I am trying to get this body tanned, if I don't blind anyone in the process. (#Irishgirlproblems).
ALSO! This is my 'first time'  using tanning oil, from what I can remember. And I must say, love it!

Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool... on a rainy day. AKA yesterday.

Remember those seeds I planted? Well I just got my fist cucumber of the year! It's so exciting watching something from a tiny seed grow into a plant, and then produce! Honestly, I did that!!!
I can't wait for the other plants to get some on them too, especially the watermelons and cantaloupe.

Hope you guys are having a wonderful summer! What have you been up to?

G. I. Joe Retaliation Movie Review

Released - 2013
Rated - PG-13
Action, Adventure, Sci-fi

[source]

Zartan, who is disguised as the President has framed the G. I. Joe Team for crimes against the country. The team is outnumber and outweaponed is forced to come up with a plan with their original leader, General Colton, to fight Cobra Commander, his buddies, and the world leaders, while trying to rescue the President.

Firstly, I'm going to start off with the fact that I am a big fan of Dwayne Johnson, and Bruce Willis, Channing Tatum is working his way up there(for his roles in movies, not for his body, just fyi). I also noticed that the guy who plays Storm Shadow (Byung-hun Lee) plays Han Cho Bai in Red 2, who of course, Bruce Willis played in as well.
Just had to toss that out there.

Now... I love love love this movie! The action scenes were good-realistic and they weren't these weird-awkward random moments like some battle scenes are that make no sense. The storyline was fast and non-dragging. I loved the whole brotherly-relationship with Duke and Roadblock, it just made the characters better, in my book.
The graphics and camera work was wonderful. No complaints there.

The only thing I didn't like was that a certain character got taken off too quickly. But they did a good job of making up for it.

I can honestly say that chances are, I will be watching this again. Five billion stars!

Trailer;

Banana Berry Smoothie!

1 banana, 3/4 cups of frozen blueberries, 1/4 cup low fat vanilla yogurt and 1/2 cup of cold water.

Blend all the ingredients together and enjoy!

Vidalia Sweet Potato Fries - Review

I was a little skeptical about these at first, wondering what the seasoning would be like, if they'll taste funky, are they gonna be like potato chips that make you feel like you've just ate two greasy cheese burgers? but no! These fries are so good!
They are a crunchy, crispy, sweet little treat. They are a smidge greasy-just a little bit, but nothing major.

And the ingredients? Don't worry, there's only ten, and completely pronounceable.

Here's to: Peaches

On 7 - 11 of 2000 marks the day that my best friend was born.

I can remember the day my Pappap brought her over to the house, it was late, me, my mom, and brother were all downstairs in the livingroom watching tv. I was four years old. During the evening there was a knock on the door and my mom, dressed in her pajamas, went and opened the door, my Pappap came in, all excited and put down this little shy, quiet, puppy on the floor. I remember running into the dinning room and dug around in the toy box and found a little stuffed animal and a bouncy ball to give her, but she hid under the chair, too shy, and probably tired, to do much.

Being the one who begged, and begged, and begged, and begged, and begged for a dog every year, for any occasion that a present could be given I got to name her. And what did I name this shy little hound dog that my Pappap would take out hunting with all of his manly-guy buddies? Peaches. That's right.

The name suited her like glove, too. She was the most kind, bubbly, happy, sweet, loving, energetic, stubborn, free-spirited, strong-willed dog I'd ever seen in my life.
She was my baby. Every dollar I had practically went to getting her things, she probably had five or ten different kinds of treats at all times, she had to work hard for those things though. Not that the training ever really stuck. She only seemed to stick with the tricks she liked and nothing else. Sit and lie down. She'd always get excited when you had food in your hand, she'd be jumping up, her tail wagging fifty miles an hour, her big brown eyes making your heart melt. The second you'd tell her to sit, she'd drop to the ground, shaking with excitment.

Peaches was also an escape artist. She had teeth of steel. We had to keep her  outside in a kennel  because she was impossible to house-train. Anytime she wanted out she'd use her teeth and tear apart the chain link fence with a hole that she could just manage to squeeze her body through and she'd take off up into the woods. Thankfully, Peaches was the kind of dog that when she'd get tired, she'd come home. She'd sit on the front porch, if we got back from a car ride looking for her, with her tail wagging, hoping to go inside like nothing had ever happened. Although, all you had to do was raise your eyebrows at her and she'd put her head down, her tail would go between her legs, and gave you the puppy-dog eyes.
Can't tell you how many times

We sort of always had a feeling that maybe something was wrong once she got around ten years old. She would only eat soft food, unless it was bones, she was also very picky when it came to food making it hard to actually give her something she could eat. Thankfully it never took long to figure out what she did or didn't like. If she didn't like the treat? She simply wouldn't eat it. If she didn't like the food? She'd paw it out of her feeder for the birds to eat.
So during the winter to make sure she was eating enough food we'd mix up dry food with a can or left-overs with some bacon greasy, and bones and meat so she'd be sure to have some fat on her.

But I can remember when things really started to go down hill. I had her out of the kennel on the runner, sitting in the yard taking pictures to spend time with her and it was one of those times where you know something's off, but you can't place it, then the problem hits you suddenly. She stopped running. She was always a runner, the word 'walk' wasn't in her doggy gates. She didn't have it in her anymore. In that moment I prayed she'd just make it till next summer, I didn't want her to go during the freezing cold winter.

Time went on, the cold months passing, preparing myself mentally for the fact she'd soon be turning fourteen soon, everything would be just dandy... and then February came. My mom and Grandma told me that Peaches hasn't been out of her box in a couple days and she hasn't been eating. Pappap couldn't get her out no matter how much he called.
I took a trip over, me and Pappap had built Peaches a box that the room could come off so we could put stray in during the winter to keep her warm. I took the top off. There she was in the corner, curled up, looking at me with her sad brown eyes that just killed you chest. I put my hand on her stomach and helped her up, she walked out of the box, her tail wasn't wagging like it usually would, she was sad, and unhappy, she was going.

There was maybe a week or two where she did better, I made sure to get her out often, to get her moving in hopes it would help, she'd walk, but she couldn't climb anything. We'd be outside and I'd be cleaning out her water bowl or something and she'd walk to go up the stairs and she'd sit there and stare at me, waiting for help. I'd go over, carry her up and go back to my business, she'd come back down a minute or two later, walk around, then back to the steps, standing there staring at me, waiting for help. It went on and on till it was time for her to go back in her kennel.

On March 13 of 2013 Peaches said goodbye.

Nothing has been the same since she's been gone, it's so weird knowing that I've been without a dog for over a year now being she was there with me for thirteen years, I still miss her, and I will always miss her.
I'm happy for her though, now she's in the place where she's happy, healthy, and probably chasing rabbits to her hearts content.

I miss you, Peaches.
