Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Movie Review

Rated - R
Released - 2012
Action, Fantasy, Horror
★★★★★★★★★★

[source]

At 9 years old, Abraham Lincoln, watches his mother die by being bit by a vampire and when he meets a guy, Jack Barts, who shows him just to go about killing them while he works as a clerk at a store where he studies law, and at night is a vampire killer.

Of being a HUGE Supernatural junkie, I honestly thought this movie was going to be a bit of a joke. But it was FAR better than expected, the camera angles, the make up, graphics, EVERYTHING about this was incredible, none of it looked incredibly animated or CG. The story line of it is absolutely fantastic. I jumped at a few parts in the beginning, they weren't actually scary, it's just what I was expecting to happen happened and somehow caught me off guard. Make sense? lol.
But I suggest anyone who's into the vampire-killing-horror sorta movies to watch this cause it's absolutely incredible!

Up Movie Review

Rated - PG
Released - 2009
Animation, Adventure, Comedy
★★★★★★★★★★

When Carl wonders into an old abandoned house the last thing he expected was to meet a fellow young wilderness explorer named Ellie that also dreams of going to South America and soon become his wife.
One day, after she passes away when he hits a construction worker and is forced to go to an retierment home he gathers a bunch of balloons, tying them to his house and floats away. While in mid sky he hears a knock on the door, and when he opens it, he meets a boy named Russell that's trying to earn an Assisting the Elderly badge.

This movie is SO cute, oh my gosh. Everyone I know who's seen it, loves it. Even my guy friends like it. I like how Carl who seems to hate Russell in the beginning grows to like him, and spends time with him, Carl's view on things change. It's a wonderful movie!

Sunburst Lemon Bars

My mom said these were good on the first day... after that, because of the eggs, the filling pretty much turned into rubber, I know the lady I found the recipe from said that she had gotten some comments saying it didn't turn out right. I'm not exactly sure, maybe it's just the oven, or I added things in the wrong combination, not so sure. So if you're gonna make them... I suggest you make sure you eat em on the first day. She said they were really good, they were more crust to her liking, so if you're a lemon person, these probably aren't for you.

What you'll need:

Crust
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • and a tsp of lemon peel if you'd like
Filling
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • and a tsp of lemon peel if you choose.
 Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3tbsp of lemon juice

First, with a mixer, beat flour, sugar, and butter(with peel if you're adding it).
Press into bottom of a 13x9inch pan and bake for 20-30min pan until lightly golden

While that's baking, whisk the eggs lightly, then add everything but the lemon stuff, once combined, add lemon. Pour over warm crust. Return in the over for 25-30mins longer

And let cool for about an hour, and enjoy.

Grown Ups Movie Review

Rated - PG-13
Released - 2010
Comedy
★★★★★★★✰✰✰

After five highschoolers basketball coach passes away, the friends and former teammates meet  up for the Fourth of July weekend at a lake house while trying to work through each of their own problems.

This movie was pretty good, some parts were a little too inappropriate for my taste but my over all favorite character in it would be Chris Rocks Kurt Mackenzie who is more of the house wife than a husband.
Over all, incredible.

Letters to Juliet Movie Review

Released 2010
Comedy, Drama, Romance
★★★★★★★★★★

Sophie dreams of being a writer. One day her and her fiance travel to Verona, Italy for a 'pre-honeymoon' because her fiance is opening up his own restaurant. While she's off wondering around in Italy she discovers this little place where a bunch of girls are crying and writing letters then putting them on a brick wall, they are letters to Juliet.

This is by far one of my favorite movies, it's cute, quirky, and who doesn't love Italy?

Pizza Muffins Recipe

The family loved these! Even got special requests for my dads friend at work for some. These are super messy to make, but so much fun at the same time, and if you so chose, doing them in roll-form, is a lot easier, not quite as messy, or fun, but easier.

What you'll need:

  • 1pkg store-bought pizza dough
  • Half a jar of pizza sauce
  • Pepperoni -I used the normal size but it calls for mini's
  • Cheese sticks
  • Shredded cheese
Mix the dough as informed on the package instructions, along with the temp of the over. Roll it out thin.
Spread pizza sauce leaving about an inch on each size, then cut in half.
Lay out pepperoni and about 1inch pieces of the cheese stick and roll adding more as you go. I went till there were two pieces of cheese stick rolled up and then cut it.
Place swirl side up in a greased pan, trying to leave as much as the filling in as possible.
After 12mins in the oven and they're browned sprinkle some shredded cheese on top with pieces of pepperoni leaving in until the cheese is melted.

And boom! Easy[:
